KEYCRUMB AGENT SKILLS · 0.1.0

Create sheets with your coding agent.

Teach your agent to write compact Markdown references and structured JSON shortcut sheets for KeyCrumb. The skill includes offline format guides, a schema, examples and an optional local validator.

These MIT-licensed authoring instructions are separate from the KeyCrumb app. They help create files; KeyCrumb reads the finished sheets from your chosen folder.

Choose your agent.

Before using the terminal route

Run from your project folder with Node.js 22.20+ and npm installed. The optional third-party skills CLI downloads the skill and asks you to confirm installation. Review those prompts; keep project installation unless you want it across local projects.

The CLI collects anonymous usage data by default. Set DISABLE_TELEMETRY=1 or DO_NOT_TRACK=1 in your terminal environment before running it to disable telemetry and security-audit requests. Installer telemetry details.

Prefer no CLI? Download the ZIP above, verify its checksum, and copy the complete keycrumb-sheets folder to the location listed for your agent. Keep SKILL.md, references/, assets/ and scripts/ together. Do not overwrite an existing customised skill.

Codex

Install in this project

Run in the project folder where you use Codex.

npx skills add https://github.com/keycrumb/homebrew-tap/tree/skills-v0.1.0/skills/keycrumb-sheets --skill keycrumb-sheets --agent codex

Or install for your local user

Available across your local projects with this agent.

npx skills add https://github.com/keycrumb/homebrew-tap/tree/skills-v0.1.0/skills/keycrumb-sheets --skill keycrumb-sheets --agent codex --global

Manual installation

Copy the extracted folder to .agents/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ in your project, or ~/.agents/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ for your local user. The final folder must contain SKILL.md directly.

Check the skills picker. Where the built-in skill installer is available, ask it to install the release-pinned source linked above. Restart Codex if the new skill is missing.

Use it

Mention $keycrumb-sheets in your request, or select it from the skills picker.

Remote and cloud sessions

For a repository-backed remote session, commit the project skill folder so it is present in the checkout. Your personal local skills are not automatically installed in a remote environment.

Claude Code

Install in this project

Run in the project folder where you use Claude Code.

npx skills add https://github.com/keycrumb/homebrew-tap/tree/skills-v0.1.0/skills/keycrumb-sheets --skill keycrumb-sheets --agent claude-code

Or install for your local user

Available across your local projects with this agent.

npx skills add https://github.com/keycrumb/homebrew-tap/tree/skills-v0.1.0/skills/keycrumb-sheets --skill keycrumb-sheets --agent claude-code --global

Manual installation

Copy the extracted folder to .claude/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ in your project, or ~/.claude/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ for your local user. The final folder must contain SKILL.md directly.

Look for /keycrumb-sheets in the slash-command menu. Start a new session in your project if it is missing.

Use it

Run /keycrumb-sheets followed by your request in Claude Code.

Remote and cloud sessions

Commit the project folder for repository-backed cloud sessions. Project cloud threads and Cowork use account-enabled skills instead; personal files on your Mac are not available there. See the documentation for your session type.

Cursor

Install in this project

Run in the project folder where you use Cursor.

npx skills add https://github.com/keycrumb/homebrew-tap/tree/skills-v0.1.0/skills/keycrumb-sheets --skill keycrumb-sheets --agent cursor

Or install for your local user

Available across your local projects with this agent.

npx skills add https://github.com/keycrumb/homebrew-tap/tree/skills-v0.1.0/skills/keycrumb-sheets --skill keycrumb-sheets --agent cursor --global

Manual installation

Copy the extracted folder to .agents/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ in your project, or ~/.cursor/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ for your local user. The final folder must contain SKILL.md directly.

Check Customize → Skills or the Agent slash menu. .cursor/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ is also supported for project installation.

Use it

Type / in Agent chat and choose keycrumb-sheets, then add your request.

Remote and cloud sessions

Commit the project skill for cloud and remote checkouts. Personal .cursor skills require Cursor’s explicit cloud sync; .agents personal skills are not synced. Automations need a repository skill.

GitHub Copilot

Install in this project

Run in the project folder where you use GitHub Copilot.

npx skills add https://github.com/keycrumb/homebrew-tap/tree/skills-v0.1.0/skills/keycrumb-sheets --skill keycrumb-sheets --agent github-copilot

Or install for your local user

Available across your local projects with this agent.

npx skills add https://github.com/keycrumb/homebrew-tap/tree/skills-v0.1.0/skills/keycrumb-sheets --skill keycrumb-sheets --agent github-copilot --global

Manual installation

Copy the extracted folder to .agents/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ in your project, or ~/.copilot/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ for your local user. The final folder must contain SKILL.md directly.

Use a current Copilot CLI or supported IDE Agent mode. Check its available skills and ask which skill it used; editor support depends on version.

Use it

Ask Copilot to use the keycrumb-sheets skill to create your sheet. Discovery and direct invocation controls depend on the CLI or editor version.

Remote and cloud sessions

For Copilot cloud agent on GitHub, copy the full folder to .github/skills/keycrumb-sheets/ and commit it to the repository. The terminal commands here target local CLI/editor use; personal skills do not travel to GitHub-hosted agents.

GitHub Copilot documentation · Checked 2026-10-23. Official documentation checked; host invocation coverage varies by agent.

Ask for the sheet you need.

Create a concise Markdown command sheet for Git on macOS. Use a table with purpose and command, no row numbers, and independently copyable commands. Save git.md without overwriting existing files.
Create a .keycrumb.json shortcut sheet for my editor on macOS. Include short descriptions and optional local icons. Ask which editor version and keymap I use, verify shortcuts against official documentation, and validate the finished file.

Put the output in your KeyCrumb folder

Choose a folder in KeyCrumb and put the UTF-8 .md or .keycrumb.json files at its top level. Keep local icons/ and images/ beside the sheets. Images resolve from that library folder, not the installed skill. Preserve your existing sheets and assets.

Check the generated content: format validation does not establish shortcut accuracy. Tell the agent your application version, platform and keymap.

If the skill does not appear.

Check your agent version and supported skill directory, then restart the session in the project. Avoid a nested folder such as keycrumb-sheets/keycrumb-sheets/SKILL.md. If Node or npm is unavailable, use the ZIP route. Organisation policies may restrict skills or third-party installers; use your agent’s documentation for those settings.

Update or remove

Check the public release and checksum before updating. Back up local edits and replace the complete installed folder with the new release, then restart discovery. To remove a manual installation, remove only its skill folder. For CLI installations, use the skills CLI’s documented removal flow for the matching agent and scope; shared links may have multiple consumers.

Use the portable skill folder for the agents above. The separate skills-only plugin package is intended for compatible OpenAI plugin hosts; it is not a universal Claude, Cursor or Copilot plugin.
